W. P. Andrew Lee, M.D., a Pennsylvania hand surgeon heralded for his successful hand transplants and breakthrough research on overcoming rejection in composite tissue grafting, has been named the chair of the newly formed Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Lee led the surgical team that performed the a successful double-arm transplant.
